Beautiful Baltic amber pendant with an embedded insect.
Best preserved fossil in the world
Baltic amber is fossilized resin from Scandinavian conifers about 44 million years old. At that time, the climate was relatively mild and the coniferous forest stretched far into the Scandinavian area with trees up to 40 meters high. Resin-trapped insects are exceptionally well preserved and have already taught science a lot about the evolution between these fossil specimens and our current insects. The insects contained in amber are therefore considered the best-preserved fossils on earth.
All in all, a beautiful piece of history of the earth that inspired Steven Spielberg in the making of the film Jurassic Park.
Effect of amber
Amber acts as a healing stone that removes negative energy from the body. Wearing amber jewelry stimulates a good mood and depressed feelings diminish or disappear with the wearing of amber.
