By heating amethyst between 300 and 400 degrees it loses its purple color and turns brown/yellow to orange. We then speak of heated amethyst or burnt amethyst. Sometimes this is mistakenly sold as citrine. However, this is incorrect. Although the color is not naturally obtained, the crystals are 100% real! This crystal comes from Brazil. The heating can cause cracks and fissures in the crust.
what is amethyst
Amethyst is a purple variant of quartz and owes its typical purple color to the presence of iron that is colored purple by the ionizing radiation (or radioactive radiation) from the earth. This amethyst is burnt and therefore yellow in color. The heating can cause cracks and fissures in the crust.
Amethyst protects and purifies, gives you insight, strength and helps you to control addictions.
