Sky blue crystals
Celestite is a strontium sulphate mineral that has been discovered since 1790. The name comes from the Latin word: 'Caelestis' which means 'heavenly' and refers to the sky-blue colour that the crystals have. However, the crystals can also be colourless to grey. The most beautiful blue celestite crystals are found in Madagascar. Note that the blue color of celestite can fade in bright light or sunlight.
