The Atlasaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North Africa 167-161 million years ago. The dinosaur was first discovered in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco in 1980, but only in 1999 was it described as its own species.
The most striking of this dinosaur was its very long neck, which could be more than 3.5 meters long! The total length of the animal is estimated at 15 meters and the weight at 22.5 tonnes. That is comparable to 5 adult elephants.
These pieces are made from the bone of the Atlasaurus. The structure still shows the veins that have run through the bone.
