Porphyry is a deep rock with embedded crystals. These crystals are called phenocrysts and can grow up to a few centimetres in size. The name comes from the Greek language and means: 'purple in color'. These stones are found in Australia in the appropriately called 'marshmallow mine'.
The pink enclosed crystals consist of the mineral clinozoisite. This is a subgroup of epidote and is related to zoisite. The pink color in combination with the black mother rock makes the stone unique in its kind and is only found in 1 place in the world.
Working of porphyry with clinozoisite
Due to the relationship between clinozoisite and epidote, many properties are similar. The stone works well to detoxify the body and helps after the exposure of radiation. The stone can also help with mental healing. Furthermore, the stone helps to prevent panic attacks and strengthen the immune system.
