Tumbled stone of prehnite with epidote crystals
Prehnite occurs from white to brown but is best known for its beautiful green color. This mineral has a spherical crystal structure, but is also often found as massive. Prehniet is named after the Dutch colonel Hendrik Von Prehn (1733-1785). The man was commander of the South African armed forces. He was the first to bring prehnite from South Africa to Europe.
