Natural pink mineral
Rhodochrosite is known for its beautiful soft pink color. This typical color is caused by a manganese compound. In 1813, the Rhodochrosite mineral, found in Romania, was first mentioned. The most beautiful Rhodochrosite, however, comes from Argentina, where the mineral has been known by the locals for much longer.
Rhodochrosite is composed of the Greek of the words 'Rhodon' which means Pink and 'Chroma' which stands for color. Literally: 'pink color'. These pieces show a beautiful layered structure.
Because of the pink color, Rhodochrosite is often associated with love. The stone has a protective function in case of hypersensitivity and gives compassion.
