Small dinosaur

This eggshell is between 65 and 70 million years old and belongs to the oviraptor. This was a relatively small dinosaur of about 1.8 meters that walked on its hind legs. The dinosaur hatched its eggs in a similar way as birds do. The front legs were long and slender, with three claw fingers. On their heads they had a small bony crest and the beak was toothless.

Egg thief

Oviraptor means "egg thief." The first fossil was found on top of a pile of dinosaur eggs. At the time it was believed that the raptor was in the process of stealing the eggs when it was killed. However, that turned out to be incorrect. The eggs on which this dinosaur was found belonged to the Oviraptor itself. She was not stealing the eggs but protecting her own brood.

Raptor with feathers?

This eggshell was found in Nanxiong, Guangdong, China and comes in a box measuring 5.5 x 3.5 cm with a picture of the oviraptor as it is supposed to have looked. However, at the moment there is also a theory that assumes the oviraptor may have had feathers.
