These crystals were recently found in the Chibuku mine in Zimbabwe and are named after the Shangaan tribal area in which the mine is located. The crystals are characterized by the beautiful crystal shapes. For example, double end and sceptres are not uncommon. The crystal often occurs in a combination of amethyst with smoky quartz and traces of hematite can also be found in it. In the more rare cases, it even contains bubbles of water or petroleum called enhydros.
The shangaan amethyst is excavated by the local population. Here are some specific rules set by the chief to protect the wildlife in which they are found. For example, 5 trees must be replanted for every tree that is cut down and every hole that is dug must be filled up again.
Elestial quartz with feminine energy
The shangaan amethyst is an elestial quartz with natural lines and layers in the crystal. It houses a strong feminine energy that brings out self-confidence and personal strength. The crystal is seen as a master healer who provides personal transformation.
