Pink zoisite
Thulite is a pink variety of zoisiet and was first discovered in 1820 in Sauland, a small town in Norway. The striking pink mineral was named after the mythical island of Thule, which has been considered the most northerly place since Roman times. Where exactly this island should be is still unclear.
National stone of Norway
Thulite is Norway's national stone. In the Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella National Park you will find Norway's largest reserve. A 7 kilometre long mountain path takes you to the beautiful pink rocks. This is the only way to reach the area.
