The sand shark consists of a large family of sharks. These teeth come from the Carcharias tingitana that lived in the Paleocene (56-66 million years ago). This shark species could reach a length of about 2.5 meters and ate mainly lobsters, squid, crabs and smaller fish.
The shark teeth are found in the Kem Kem formation on the border between Morocco and Algeria. This location is known for its many fossil findings. Not only shark teeth but also dinosaur teeth and even whole skeletons have been found in this area.
These sets are ideal for the more educational children's parties or for in the classroom. Each set contains enough examples to go around or to give one tooth for every attender.
