The Otodus obliquus was one of the earliest mackerel sharks. Its teeth are known for their broad, triangular crowns and smaller flanks. This shark ruled the oceans during the Early Eocene and Paleocene epochs (approximately 60-45 million years ago).

Location

The shark teeth were found in the Kem Kem Formation on the border of Morocco and Algeria. This location is known for its many fossil finds. Not only shark teeth, but also dinosaur teeth and even entire skeletons have been found in this area.
