Otodus obliquus was one of the earliest mackerel sharks. Their teeth are known for their broad triangular crown and smaller side teeth. This shark ruled the oceans during the Early Eocene and Paleocene epochs (about 60-45 million years ago).

Finding area

The shark teeth are found in the Kem Kem formation on the border between Morocco and Algeria. This location is known for its many fossil findings. Not only shark teeth but also dinosaur teeth and even whole skeletons have been found in this area.
